I wander a New york subway in my travels and my eyes meet a slightly overweight girl--one that I wouldn’t normally be attracted to--who was going down the upstairs while talking on her phone.
We stop at the edge of the station. The road ends. I don’t know where I am. There is only one track. The red signs tell us the direction of the train. It indicates Brooklyn. The yellow sidewalk tells me not to kill myself.
People are scattered. I only see her. She’s still a little fat. She's still talking on her phone.
I talk to her after she hangs up her phone but she is timid at first. She asks if I go to Brooklyn university and I say that I don’t go anywhere. “I’m wandering,” I say looking deep into her. She is taken aback. We talk for a few moments more and do not break eye contact. The topic of conversation becomes unimportant and she hugs me.
She tells me, “You’re the one.” My brain pauses; I am confused. She hugs me tighter and tells me, “I love you." I feel her beauty. I can’t keep my eyes open. I can't open my eyes. I love her. My eyes finally open finding myself in a secluded Los angeles community on a blistering hot day.
I can’t feel the heat. Now I know where I am; and where I am going. Even though I’m not guiding myself, my mind and body have the same destination, neither really wants to go. I see the apartments at the top of a hill with curvy streets. I can’t tell how many bends there are.
There is a large ditch between the road and me. I didn’t see the ditch when I was driving. I figured that I must have gone over it to get here. My car is gone. Even though I only vaguely remember driving anywhere. I continue on foot.
I look back to see a large truck. The truck looks like it was straight out of my imagination. Imagine the biggest hot-wheels vehicle you've seen, and make it life size. It barely made it over the ditch. I walk up the rest of the zig Zags. I cannot count how many zigs and Zags there are.
I am at the apartment now and it is expressionless. Dull. It makes my stomach turn thinking about what had happened here earlier today. I wonder if my face is still messed up so I stare into the mirror in the bathroom. It is shattered and dirty. The broken image I see is of a dark goul. Needles, vials, and burned tin foil scatter the floor.
"I hate you," says the reflection. I feel his evil. My stomach is in a complete knot. "I hate you. Now die!" I reach down and grab a needle. My hands tremble. Black dye swirls inside the needle as I extract poison from a vial. I can't close my eyes. I have no feeling. The black dye begins to swirl all over the bathroom. It gets sucked quickly into a vortex.
All I see is bright light.
